Who are we

Multiple surgical societies and other organisations currently exist in South Africa representing various interest groups.  These societies and organisations have significant synergies with each other and share many aims and goals with similar challenges, hence the need for a formalised relationship to tackle common interests.

These common interests include (but are not limited to):

  • Surgical education
  • Congresses
  • Political influence
  • Regulatory affairs
  • Professional affairs
  • Advocacy
  • Patient advocacy and social responsiveness
  • Marketing
  • Private practice affairs
